Funding Opportunities
Some employers and community partners may be eligible to secure funding and/or grants when hiring students. BioTalent Canada Student Work Placement Program (for employers with a focus on biotechnology, bioenergy, biohealth, etc.)
Canadian Media Producers Association (CMPA)

Cultural Human Resources Council
The Student Work Placement (SWP) program supports partnerships between arts and culture employers and post-secondary education (PSE) institutions to create paid quality work-integrated learning (WIL) opportunities for students. The student's field of study does not have to be related to arts and culture.
Environmental Careers Organization (ECO)
Training & Wage Subsidies for Environmental Jobs As the steward for the Canadian Environmental workforce across all industries, we offer employment programs that stimulate environmental career pathways, skill development, business growth, workforce support and workforce advancement through wage and training funding.
This initiative includes a wage subsidy to welcome interns with internships carried out across Quebec.

Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC) Work Integrity Learning Digital Subsidy (for employers in fintech, entertainment and gaming, cyber security, etc.)
Magnet Student Work Placement Program
The Magnet Student Work Placement Program (SWPP) brings together employers, students, and post-secondary school stakeholders to create quality work-integrated learning (WIL) opportunities.
The Talent Opportunities Program (TOP) is an initiative of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce designed to help employers located anywhere in Canada hire college and university students on WIL placements.
Technation.ca Career Ready Program
TECHNATION’s Career Ready Program (for employers immersing a student in the use of technology; both tech and non-tech organizations are encouraged to apply).
Funded by the Government of Canada’s Student Work Placement Program and coordinated by Tourism HR Canada, Propel offers qualifying employers a wage subsidy for each qualifying student hired through the program.
Venture for Canada (supporting new venture employers; startups and small businesses).
e-Talent Canada Work-integrated Learning Program (WIL Digital)
WIL Digital is an innovative work placement program that benefits both employers and students. WIL Digital helps employers grow their businesses by providing a wage subsidy to hire post-secondary students while students gain meaningful work experience and on-the-job learning. WIL Digital is funded by the Government of Canada's Student Work Placement Program (SWPP). ICTC is among the first organizations to deliver this program.

Canadian Council for Aviation & Aerospace (CCAA)
The Canadian Council for Aviation & Aerospace (CCAA) is one of the partners that will deliver the program, working with employers and PSE institutions in the Aviation and Aerospace sector. Under SWPP, employers offering quality work-integrated learning placements to PSE students will be eligible to receive wage subsidies through CCAA.
Edwards School of Business in partnership with Federated Co-operatives Ltd
In partnership with Federated Co-operatives Limited, we are able to provide funding support for Indigenous businesses hiring Edwards co-op students and businesses hiring Edwards Indigenous students. Electricity Human Resources Canada (EHRC)
Electricity Human Resources Canada’s (EHRC) Empowering Futures Program is Canada’s student work placement initiative for the electricity industry, providing financial incentives of up to $7,000 to employers who create new Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunities.
Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium (EMC)
Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium (EMC), via its WILWorks program, is a preferred partner for the Government of Canada to deliver the Student Work Placement Program (SWPP) to Canada's manufacturing and related sectors.
Through the Student Work Placement program, employers can apply for wage subsidies to help them hire post-secondary students across Canada.
Mining Industry Human Resources Council (MiHR)
Gearing Up is the student work placement program for Canada’s mining sector. Led by MIHR, Gearing Up is creating over 1250 new WIL opportunities in mining. Wage subsidies up to $7,000 are available to employers who create new co‑ops, internships, field placements, applied projects, capstone projects or case competitions.
Applications are now open for the Mitacs Business Strategy Internship (BSI) program, an exciting opportunity to leverage $5,000 + GST into a $10,000 student internship, through the support of Mitacs.

Trucking HR is a national non-profit organization focusing on advancing modern HR solutions for the trucking and logistics workforce. The program works to increase the job-readiness of students registered in various transportation, logistics and supply chain related programs at Canadian post-secondary institutions.
