What is ISIP?
The Indigenous Student Internship Program (ISIP) is designed with the Indigenous Strategy (ohpahotân I oohpaahotaan) as the backbone of the programming. These internships are meant to foster student growth, enhance self-determination, and provide cultural and land-based experiences. The ISIP program utilizes the seven commitments: Safety, Wellness, Stewardship, Representation, Recreation, and Renewal throughout its development, assessment, and administration.
ISIP is generously supported by the Oyateki Partnership; a collaborative initiative that is creating opportunities for Indigenous learners to be full partners in their education and journey to meaningful work.
Benefits of Participation
- A new hire brings fresh eyes and a different perspective to your organization.
- Interns offer the opportunity to learn specific skills.
- Interns have the potential to boost productivity.
